About the Artist
Java (Javier González Herrera, Mexico City, 1992) is a visual artist whose work builds a recognizable visual language through the hybridization of the human, the animal and the symbolic.
His images do not seek to fix a single narrative, but to open multiple readings where the figure transforms, merges and shifts. His practice starts from a clear intention, but is defined in the process: through layers, decisions and adjustments, the work deviates from the initial plan until it finds its own resolution.
Forms and signs reappear and evolve from piece to piece, building an ever-expanding visual system where each work is autonomous, yet part of the same universe.
Editions
These pieces emerge as an extension of the original work.
They don't seek to replace it, but to open another way of accessing the image.
Each edition is limited, signed and numbered.
Some appear, others disappear.
Not all works have an edition.
